Creaky front end 2003 Jetta by
William Maslin
My daughter called to say that her 2003 1.8T Jetta makes a squeaking or
creaking sound when going over bumps. Naturally, it just went out of
warranty. Any idea as to what is "most likely," on an 03 Jetta, eg,
front stabilizer bushings or balljoint?
Thanks,
Bill

critique my article by
goose
Hello all
I've reposted my "changing a vw cambelt" post (that I made here
sometime back) on my (brand-new) web-site.
Please feel free to read and criticise, I'll rather change it to be
more
accurate than let it squander in mediocrity :-)

Cruise Control by
Johannes Parchman
I have a '97 Jetta GL, auto, with 122K miles, and discovered recently
that the cruise control didn't seem to be working. I'm not a big user
of the feature, but it was nice to have around. The thing just didn't
engage when I employed the toggle on the turn signal. I was wondering
if this is a...

Cruise Control Problem 2000 Jetta by
Chris[_3_]
2000 Jetta GL 2.0
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. When I set the
cruise control it works for a short period of time 10-15 mins. Then it
kicks off and will not let you set it again until a later date, like a
different day. Anyone have a place for me to start?
Also replacing the...

Cruise Control Unit on Cabrio by
[email protected]
Anyone have any experience replacing a Cruise Control unit on a Cabrio?
Mine is 2000 and the dealer says the cruise ctrl unit neds to be
replaced and the part is $600. Can I buy this somewhere and install it
myself? Perhaps it's a simple task.
Thanks for any help,
Steve

crunching sound from left wheel by
Chris_E
I think I already know what this is, but a second opinion is always nice.
Within the last month or so when I turn the car to the right (usually 3/4 of
a turn of the wheel) I hear a crunching sound (almost a click_crunch) from
the left wheel.
1. Is this indicative of a bad CV Joint ?
2. I'll...

Does anyone have a source for decent cup holders for my '88 Jetta? I

I could purchase some cheap dangly thing that hooks to the window, but

Current Leak in 1993 Corrado by
[email protected]
The battery goes dead if the car is not used for two or three days.
I have replaced the battery and the fuse box with new units.
An ammeter in series with the positive lead to the battery shows a small
current draw with the ignition key turned off and removed. The draw does
not go away if all...

Current Leak in 93 Corrado SLC by
[email protected]
My battery runs down after a few days idle. The battery has been
replaced. The alternator and regulator checked okay. The mechanic
measures a current leak that does not go away as each fuse and relay is
pulled but does go away when the entire fuse panel is disconnected.
Any thoughts?

Cylinder numbering /can't see TDC mark on the flywheel by
[email protected]
What is the cylinder numbering on VW? I got a passat 91, if I open the
hood and face the engine, which one is going to be the first cylinder?
Do not laugh, I am just double checking, I am replacing the timing
belt/tensioner DYI, can't see and align the TDC mark on the flywheel,
so I assume that I...
