Goldwing engine for Baja by
Anthony
Other than it has a built in gearbox and won't connect up to the VW
transaxle without major surgery, sure why not?
I think a 2.2L 16 valve Subaru engine would be a far more practical way to
go to make a Bug insanely fast.

[OT] Help Shaggie home by
Neil
It looks like Travis had a little too much to drink and is a little
unsteady.
Haven't we all been there before..... You just move you mouse left to right
(no clicking) to keep him walking in a straight line.
The object of the game is to keep him walking, without falling over, by
using your mouse...

OT classic ford? by
Bart Bervoets
Just coming from a scrapyard, needed some vw parts.
Between the usual crap on the yard is a little ford
van, looks a bit like a vw kombi but the front says
ford thames.
Chassis looks very decent, paint good, all parts
there and fully original, and the price is a bargain.
Papers and all are...

No Oil Filter??? by
Chuck Townsley
I am sure this has been discussed at nausea in the past, but being a
new member to the joy of VW ownership club (or is that joy of repair
club?), I am not aware of these discussions.
My question is simple. I have 1600cc engine and it has not oil
filter. It has a screen filter at the bottom of...

T1 or T4 mains in 84mm stroker(Type 1 case)??? by
69' Dune Buggy 1600cc
Question: Would it be worth it to have all T4 mains put in on a 84mm x
94mm bore new type 1 mag case? I've read that 86mm & above it would
help or be needed. This is just going to be used as a hot rodding
street dune buggy.
Thanks guys.

Rear wheels issue by
Narley Dude®
It has come to that time for me to replace rear wheel bearing and such
while I'm at it, in which I need to bring up this question of "what"
to look for:
I have a 72 SB convertible. If you look at the rear wheels instead of
being nice and vertically straight or slightly inwards... mine are
leaning...

fuel leakage / smell? by
Ed Botwinik
I'm hoping someone here can help me figure out a problem. I have a 73 Thing
with a 1600cc dual port that is newly rebuilt.
The problem is the smell of raw fuel when the car is running.
I've recently replaced the fuel tank, all fuel lines, fuel filter and fuel
pump. There don't seem to be any...

Engine Fire :-( by
J Blair
I never thought it would happen to me (famous last words). I've
always been careful about checking hose clamps and fuel lines to make
sure that everything was secure. But I guess you can't check
everything. Yesterday, the inlet nozzle to the carbeurator broke and
started spewing gas inside the...

ACVW shops in upstate NY???? by
Tim Rogers
Hey guys. I know this is a long shot. A woman who drove up to Oswego, NY in
her '65 Ghia from the NYC area (350 miles?) called me a short while ago. She
needs a knowledgeable ACVW mechanic to take a look at the engine before she
attempts the drive back to the NYC area. She says there's something...
