2000 miata runs intermittently bad by dave
I have a intermittent problem with my 2000 miata, intermittently runs bad misses terribly then clears up just as fast. I have had the Mazda dealer tune it up, plugs, wires fuel filter but it still does it. It has a P0420 cat efficiency code in it when this happens. I have never been able to get it...

primary fan by Mac[_2_]
Question on the primary fan. 1990 Miata. Primary fan sometimes does not come on when engine temp reaches midrange on gauge like it should. almost overheats if I don't turn on the ac, when turn on the ac both fans come on like they are suppose too. just wanted to see if anyone has had this happen...

Ok, you've convinced me by Professor[_2_]
I'm at an age where I look for the small things in life to give me pleasure. I've loved the look and the idea of a Miata for years but my practicality always led me to other cars. I own a 2006 Mazda3 GT but I'm looking to trade it in for a MX-5. I don't have the cash for a new one, so I'm on the...

Advice on Prosport Gauges by Frank Berger
Perhaps someone can help. My "new" MSM has Prosport air/fuel and boost gauges mounted on the A pillar. It's the way they are wired that I have a question about. After starting the car, I have to hold down the button on the air/fuel gauge to initialize the gauges. Otherwise they don't...

Bridgestone RE-11 short review by Lanny Chambers
I finally decided to replace the 5 year old T1Rs--only half worn at 12k miles, but too hard to trust anymore. Considering the car only sees ~1200 miles/year now, I ordered a set of RE-11s from Tire Rack. Very impressive. They are heavier than the T1R, but are quiet and ride almost as well, at...

Hard top opinions? by Don Q[_2_]
Is there a consensus about the hard top? On the one hand one can cite better weather protection in winter and better defense against vandalism and theft if one has to park outdoors/overnight. On the other hand there is the issue of storage during the summer months, and the additional purchase...

Newbie question by Don Q[_2_]
Hello Everyone, I have always been a car nut, but circumstances have not always been favorable. I am now heading into what we might call an end of life crisis; getting ready to buy a nice car. My first inclination is the mx-5. And surely, in this forum of all places it is not difficult to find...

Is Toyota damaging the reputation of Japan? by hls
"TibetanMonkey, the-Monkey-with-the-Bag-of-****" I think Toyota's problems come from arrogance. ******** I dont know if you can lay it all off on arrogance, but when a company grows in size and credibility the way Toyota has done, it is not unusual for it to "get fat" and lose sight of the...

New Miata (er, MX-5) by Frank Berger
My '96 died, as I reported earlier. It was dying a slow death, then the engine gave out. I sold the remains today. I suspect it will be junked. I also suspect it would pay somone to put an engine into it. I just wasn't up to it. Tomorrow, I'm flying to LA to complete the purchase of a 2004...

under the hood by Professor[_2_]
I just recently subscribed to this NG so forgive me if this has been discussed many times before but..... Why hasn't Mazda offered the more powerful engine from the MazdaSpeed 3 for the Miata. It seems to me a natural for those looking for a "bigger bang". Professor

While I personally find the practice abhorrent, I do wish you would go back to banging your teenage daughter. You appear to think that your posts mean something to us "robots".... Sadly mistaken. You are telling me not to buy Toyota.... Well... you've succeeded there.... in my 60 years, I have...
