Renix E.F.I. tip by
Budd Cochran[_2_]
One difficulty Jeep owners have with the Renix Fuel Injection is setting the
TPS correctly.
I found myself needing to set my son's 88 XJ's TPS without a vehicle
battery.
The method I used was to take the throttle body off the engine and suppling
voltage from a couple "D" cells, then set the...

XJ Failed Emissions Test by
kokonutty
2001 XJ (58,000 miles) failed and has codes P0442 (small leak) and
P0455 (large leak) in the evaporative emissions system. Other than the
gas cap, does anyone have any ideas what to look for first? Thanks.

Compression test question by
Kevin S
I want to do a compression test on my 258 before I re-install it (I'm doing
a complete rebuild). The engine was advertised as being rebuilt about 10K
before I bought it (I've added maybe 3k), but then again the PO also said
the frame and body were in "good shape".... (did I mention I'm doing...

Silverton vs. Austin by
Earle Horton
This is for you, Stevie. http://tinyurl.com/93cpr
Hope you all are having a good summer too. What does this have to do with
Jeeping, Silverton, or Austin? Well, Silverton is just about full of Jeeps
of every description now, and the "perp" originally hails from Austin, just
like...

Winch mounting plate layout - Anyone have one? by
Kate
What a happy day.
My Ex husband and his wife came to visit a few weeks ago. They took our
littlest Jeeper home for three weeks and he just brought him home last
night.
While they were here he told me that he had a Warn winch he would give me
for my Jeep. What a guy!
Last night, the winch came...

"Death" Wobble? by
help-slip-franklin
Over the weekend I bought some home improvement materials from the local DIY
place and while bringing them home in a trailer on my 1994YJ 6cyl I started
to feel the DW at about 50 mph. Slowed down and it went away. I was too
chicken to try again to see if it was the road (ie. rough, pot holes,...

New Ring and Pinion Set OR Edge System Intake-Throttle Body- Control set by
Masnor
I have a 2000 TJ Sahara manual transmission. Good shape, used mostly on the
road for daily driver. But for hunting and looks I got a 4 inch lift, front
and rear TrueTracs, and tires went up to 33s. It looks good, drives well on
road, and gets me in and out of the hunting area with...

Windshield mirror mount removal? by
Daniel Bibbens
Have any of you ever purposefully removed the rear view mirror mount from
your windshield? I've had them fall off other cars, but I can't seem
to get it off of my '04 TJ. I'm thinking a solvent of some sort. Any
ideas or advice?

Questions about my 1999 Jeep Wrangler by

OK, I took the plunge last week and bought myself a Jeep Wrangler.
Nothing fancy, a 1999 Sport with 122K miles. Its in very good shape
judging from the number of other 98 & 99's I looked at before bringing
this one home. I also took the advice of members of this board and
made sure it had the...

OT a little 2 cycle Vs 4cycle by
Brian Foster
Just got rid of my 15 year old leaf blower. Something like a 30cc 16/1
mixture 15 year old Craftsman.
Bought a new Poulan 40/1 33 cc blower.
Question is the 2 cycle VS 4 cycle engine. What are the pros vs cons of
both? I realize mixing oil & gas would be a hassle for most car owners but
what...

New Radiator $$ by
Daniel Paisley
I'm needing to buy a new radiator in the very near future I do believe.
Lots of bent fins, inside looks pretty nasty as well. AutoZone said
$214+, but said to call 1-800-radiator for the same lifetime warranty
for a better price. I have learned not to use the words 'cheap' and
'Jeep' in the same...
