Alfa 166 ICS error by
PJB
My ICS screen displays an "Airconditioning failure please contact service
centre"
on my Alfa 166.
I have had the software updates 3 time in New Zealand at the agents. There
doesn't seem to be faulty but it happens everytime I start the car and
occasionaly when on a long trip. Pressing the "Climate"...

Alfasud Sprint 1.7QV water pump leakage by
Regan
Hello,
My (t)rusty Sprint has has just developed a coolant leak from what
appears to be a core plug in the front of the water pump, although not
one of my various repair manuals shows that particular model of water
pump.
When the engine is hot there's a fast drip, about an eggcupful a minute
and...

*sigh*...... I hate ebay sometimes. by
SteveH
Have a look at this:
http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidItems&userid=dalbat007&co
mpleted=1&all=1&rows=25&sort=3
It appears the seller with the 156 I was interested in is into shill
bidding in a big way, so sod that.
I've reported him instead.

Valuation, please.... by
SteveH
Given that I'm notoriously tight when it comes to shelling out for
cars..... can the group give me a valuation on this:
1999S 156 1.8 TSpark
I *think* it's a Lusso (wood trim, cordroy seats, climate, sunroof)
Steel wheels (eurgh!)
101k miles, 1 owner, full history.
Cambelts done in March this...

147 aircon by
Tony Rickard
My wife is complaining her 147's aircon isn't getting cold like it did
(before it got hot today). Just tried it and I hear no audible click
turning the aircon off and back on. I do with my 156.
Do other 147 owners hear the compressor cut in if they turn the aircon on?
It is a 2003 with dual...

Urgent...... V6 vs TSpark fuel consumption by
SteveH
OK, how much more is a V6 going to cost in fuel compared with a TSpark
over a 250-300 mile week?
My heart says 'buy it', my head says 'that'll cost you an extra 25 quid
/ week in petrol'......

Scottish Alfa Specialist? by
FrankyG
Hi,
I've had my 164 3.0 Super (133K miles) for a year and a half now,
pretty much trouble free.
The first MOT was pricey at over £500, and it's nearly that time
again. A few weeks ago when I was changing the wing, I could see the
timing belt was looking pretty tired and worn. I don't have a...

iPod in 156 by
peshwengi
Hi everyone,
I just bought a (late) 2002 156 1.6 Veloce, my first Alfa, and also my
first car. Under the driver's seat are two cables, which I assume are
power and data cables for a CD changer (it has the standard Alfa cd
player in the dash). Does anyone know of any way to plumb an iPod in so
that...

Someone talk me out of it...... by
SteveH
But I'm being drawn towards a 166.
Just can't argue with the VFM, 99V, 75k miles, FSH, 2lt TSpark, appears
fully loaded - satnav, heated seats, etc..... (might be standard, I
suppose) £2295ono from a dealer, ffs!
I can't see how I could go wrong.

Crazy... by
Tony Rickard
06 plate 2006 ALFA ROMEO 156 2.5 V6 24V Q-System Lusso 4dr Auto Saloon.
£10,750 on Autotrader.
Obviously a pre 2004 facelift model (the 2.5 was dropped then) and the
unpopular Q-System that didn't really suit the lovely V6. I guess they
are going to have to give this one away. It is at half 2004...
