Sportwagon Tailgate Trim Removal by SteveH
Any ideas? I need to gain access to the rear wiper, which has a minor electrical issue - probably a fault in the muti-plug. If I wiggle it, the wiper works, but won't stay working. Cheers. --

Cheap 156.... by SteveH
No connection, other than being a subscriber to the forum, but thought this may interest someone he http://forum.alfa156.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=54487&PN=1 As you can see from my reply, key re-coding is cheap these days, so someone could get a bargain there. -- SteveH 'You're not a...

A Sad Day by Zathras
I had genuinely hoped to have been able to put off this day forever, but it wasn't to be. After 7 enjoyable and remarkably trouble free years of driving the Alfa, the 8th year and, in particular, the last six months have been a trial. It looked as though the trial would never end so the best car I...

156 at the end of the world... by SteveH
Took the 156 down to the West Country for a long weekend. Took in the Eden Project, Fleet Air Arm Museum and Lands End. Total miles in the region of 650. 2 tanks of fuel burned. Average MPG just short of 35. :)

Door mirrors by GT[_11_]
Both my door mirror mounts have completely shed their 'black' now. My old Fiat Marea did this too. I'm not too bothered about it as the resulting bauxite (corroded aluminium) looks like chrome from a distance! Should I be concerned? Are the mirrors likely to fall off?!?

Just been to collect my 75 by SteveH
from the garage where I keep it, around 10 miles away. Haven't had a chance to use it since the first week of June, but once I'd disconnected the battery, it fired up pretty much instantly. Who says Alfas are unreliable? -- SteveH 'You're not a real petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa...

JTS exhaust by GT[_11_]
Best online shop for exhausts please... I need a new back box for my 156 2002 2.0JTS. Its not the same as the TSpark exhaust system. The flexi pipe was the blowing part, so they welded a similar sized piece in and all is well, but there is only luck holding the rear silencer together at the...

75 wind deflector removal by SteveH
Does anyone have an idiots guide to this? Managed to the passenger side item whilst working on the car today. Gah! On the positive side, the car now has a decent stereo with bluetooth hands-free, iPod control and MP3 capability and the headlining no longer sags, although I need to have it fixed...

Argghh: taken roughly. by Catman
Or more accurately SWMBO was. By a bloody great LWB Transit type thing in her 145. Boot won't open or shut properly, looks to me like the rear quarter shouldn't be that shape and the spare wheel well / boot floor is definitely bent. I suppose that will get written off then. At least driver...

Odd noise by R C Nesbit
The 156 1.9 JTD had started making a very odd noise. Started yesterday, under heavy throttle, a sort of shhhshhsshshs noise, best I can describe it is like the noise of waves receding on a pebble beach. Only happens under heavy throttle, neutral or slight acceleration there is no problem. So,...

Anyone tried LED p21 brake/light bulbs? Ebay item 110416650094 for an example. Or just search for p21 5w led. Bright enough? Long lasting? Opinions?

156 JTD engine temp. by R C Nesbit
My 156 1.9JTD has, in the past couple of days, started displaying highly variable engine temperatures. I noticed it first on Sunday, driving up quite a steep winding hill stuck behind a car doing <50mph, the temp went up to 3/4 Today on a mixed run of high speed A1 and slower A roads it seems...

Hi Guys, Things are not going well for me. On Saturday I had the 166 serviced at a dealers including an oil change. It was them that recommended I swap my tyres about. This morning I saw some liquid stains on my drive, looked underneath the Alfa and saw a pool of oil. the car has never leaked...

Novitec Rosso downsizes with tuned Alfa Romeo MiTo by notlove
Alfa Romeo's new MiTo is hardly a performance powerhouse, with the current range-topping model in the lineup boasting a diminutive 1.4L turbo engine until the performance-focused GTA arrives. Thankfully, German tuner Novitec Rosso is remedying the situation with a number of upgrades for the stylish...
