fuel pump relays by
Nate Nagel[_2_]
Hi all,
can someone tell me when the VW fuel pump relays began having the
"priming" feature where the pump would run for a few seconds after you
turned the key on?
No, Dave, I haven't forgotten that you'd offered a socket, I'm *finally*
getting back to that project after working my butt off...

Passat makes a "thud" sound?? by
AABob
Hi,
I have a 2000 Passat GLX V6 Automatic. When accelerating fast from a
full stop, I hear a "thud" from the front of the vehicle. The sound
occurs once when the car starts moving. If I accelerate slowly from a
full stop, then I do not hear that noise.
Also, if I accelerate with my foot on...

Costco batteries by
HT
Hi everyone,
I'm off to costco to buy a new battery, however, they have my group
size and everything, BUT the label indicates that the cold cranking
amps are about 200 higher than the book says my care requires. Does
the CCA number matter as long as it is higher than what the...

1996 Jetta GL - 2 questions - exhaust & manual trans oil by
JM_newsgroups
Hello,
1. The car has about 83,000 miles. It's a southern car; not sure if
the exhaust is original. The exhaust gets noisy at around 2600 RPM,
but not the type of noise when holes are present (I inspected the
system - no holes). I'm assuming it's the muffler. That middle
"muffler" is a...

Passat Accident by
D&LBusch[_2_]
I was cut off yesterday by a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver felt the
need to turn left across opposing traffic to enter a highway w/o looking. I
hit him in his rear right tire with my 04 GLS. He spun and his rear axel
came off sending the wheel flying.
I fear my Passat is a total loss. ...

82 Rabbit heater blower lubrication by
Rich
The original blower (squirrel cage with motor inside) lasted 20 years.
Replaced new 180 bucks - bearings screaming on startup 2 years later.
Any idea if the bearings in this blower/motor assy. can be lubricated?
TIA rich

2000 Jetta GL - Power Lock Issue by
Mister.Lull
Hello All,
It's been a while since I've posted, I hope everyone is doing well!
I've been having an intermittent issue with the power locks on my 2000
Jetta GL. Specifically, both driver side doors. The rear door is
worse, but when it starts to act up the front door gets glitchy too.
At first,...

etc.
My natural reaction is YEAH BABY. How different are the two ? Is
this going to be as straightforward as i think ?
Silly questions i know, but...

Comments on Innova 3100 OBD II reader? by
tonyw
Hi. Any comments on the Innova 3100 OBD II reader for working on VW's?
Canadian Tire have it on sale at $89 (regular $199 CDN). I was
thinking of getting one.
Currently our cars are an '85 Golf and a '90 Golf, both pre-OBD. But
we're looking to replace the '85 soon and an OBD II reader would...

'98 Golf PCV valve by
bruce
The short rubber hose that connects between the PCV valve and the tube
leading down to the crank case had collapsed and split, leaving the
car stinking of oil, so I replaced it today. I was mostly focused on
replacing the hose, but looked inside the PCV valve full of yellow
colored goo, like what...
