Replace all tires for a flat one? by
Ocean
My tire (rear/passenger side) got flat and the dealer told me it can't
be fixed for a safty reason. That's ok. However, he asked me to
replace all tires in order to tune ABS and so forth cause it is 4WD(I
know only a little about car). BTW, the car is a 2003 XLT. I bought
this car last year and it...

Explorer Reliability Issues? by
Richard Minami
Well, we've almost pulled the trigger on a brand new 2005 Explorer. What
are peoples' opinions on their reliability? I'm forgoing a Honda Pilot,
going with an Explorer due to my towing needs, and I guess, future wants.
The Honda tows 3,500 lbs, or 4,500 if it's a boat. (? I guess it has to...

Will an '02 explorer bumper cover fit a '00 explorer sport? by
[email protected]
I bought a used 2000 ford explorer sport about 5 months ago. This
explorer sport is great. the 4.0L SOHC engine makes it VERY agile
. i've made minor modifications on the intake and put a
flowmaster exhaust system on it and it sounds surpisingly good for a
V6. its in great condition and only had...

PICS: The 2011 Ford Explorer is COMING by
JLA
New article about the 2011 Ford Explorer from MA
The Ford Explorer has had a mixed past--rollover lawsuits, relatively
ancient underpinnings and styling that hasn't always kept up with the
pace of the industry. But that's all about to change with the 2011
Explorer, and despite its move to the...

oil life monitor question by
Andy G.
I have a 2004 Limited w/ V-8, approx. 23,000 miles. It's only been about
2000 mi. since my last oil change, yet I'm getting a 'change oil soon'
message. I'm 98-99% certain that it was reset at that time. Does the oil
life monitor really monitor the oil or is it just an estimate based on...

Ford OEM Keychain by

I'm trying to purchase a Ford Keychain like you would get when you bought a
new Explorer from the dealer. It was silver and had "Explorer" engraved on
the oval tube which was in the center and it had a ring on each end, one of
which would snap free.
There was an address in the owners manual where...

Question about gear lubricant by

Hello All
I'm about to change the gear oil on my 92 XLT with limited slip (I'm

The parts store gave me Castrol Limited Slip Gear Lubricant and the 4
oz of friction modifier Ford calls for. It's GL-5 SAE 80W-90.
The Ford manual says use hypoid gear oil (the Haynes manual says...

Battery question. by
zoti
The battery on my Explorer died a couple of weeks ago. It was 6 years old
but showed no signs of illness before it wouldn't crank the engine anymore.
So I got a new battery from Pepboys which is supposed to be 650 cold
cranking amps. Just to be sure I also took the truck over to AutoZone to...
