2002 GTI 337 Overheat by [email protected]
I've encountered my first 'major' problem with the 337. I was driving down the road the other day and my temperature warning light came on and my temperature gauge was almost pegged. I pulled over, shut the car off and let it sit for a few. Once the temp came down below half, I started to drive...

Ok another question I need answered in order to get this classic on the road. I just work on the break. All of them are bled and there does not seem to be air in the lines. I just added the self adjusters to the back breaks which the last people that worked on it left out. Any way it has basically...

'99 Wolfsburg Golf is possessed! by [email protected]
Hi everyone - My '99 Wolfsburg is either possessed or has a bizarre electrical problem. I haven't driven it for about 24 hours. This evening, someone came home and told me that my cabin light is on. I went outside and saw that the light was set to only come on when the doors are open, but...

90 Golf ticking, shuttering by Ears
90 Golf 8v 1.8 The motor has a ticking problem that I was hoping I could get some advice about. Also, lately the car has been shuddering a bit at idle. It never had a really steady idle, but lately the car seems to be not running as smoothly at idle. Otherwise, the car runs great.

Dislodged Skid Plates by [email protected]
Hi all. I had the car washed this morning, and the attendant pointed out to me (before the car went into the tunnel) that skid plates on my 2002 2.0L Golf had become dislodged. Rather than driving around with the things dragging on the road, he yanked them out for me and put them in my trunk. ...

84 Vanagon, 2 L? by Bart Holmquist
Just bought and drove 600 miles. Need to tune up with ignition wires, cap etc. When going to web the parts stores list only the 1.6 and 1.9 liter engines. Apparently mine is a 2 liter made in Germany. What gives? Will the 1.9 L parts fit the 2L? Where can parts be ordered?

Hi there! Unfortunately, I don't have a manual for my 2000 Jetta GL, 2.0 Manual - so I have to ask you all this quick question. Perhaps 1/3 to 1/2 of the times I start my car (morning, noon, and night - the time/tempurature of the day doesn't seem to matter) the water tempurature warning light in...

1999 New Beetle by Andy
Hi All, I purchased this beetle for my wife in January. She had always wanted one. It only had 27000 miles on it and seemed too good a deal to pass up on. It runs fine and handles well. Its problems are the same ones that I've been reading about at various places online. Stuck Fuel door, trunk...

Creaky front end 2003 Jetta by William Maslin
My daughter called to say that her 2003 1.8T Jetta makes a squeaking or creaking sound when going over bumps. Naturally, it just went out of warranty. Any idea as to what is "most likely," on an 03 Jetta, eg, front stabilizer bushings or balljoint? Thanks, Bill
