intermittent intermittent wipers by
Chuck[_8_]
Hello VW experts,
Have an '80 VW Rabbit, Westmoreland style w/ square headlights.
About a year ago, I upgraded the car to intermittent wipers,
intending to save the wear and tear on the wiper motor, linkages,
and blades.
Prior to doing that upgrade, the wipers would occasionally not
park...

82 Rabbit Door Lock Mechanism by
Rich
Our door lock plunger used to snap into full-up or full-down position.
Now it just seems to float or fall back to the half-up position.
Is there a spring in there somewhere that could have broken? rich

1981 Diesel Rabbit repairs (and in Seattle) by
Ken Finney[_2_]
I haven't been driving my Rabbit much, since it has well over 160,000 miles
(odometer broke two owners ago) and I don't know the condition of the timimg
belt. Now, I'm 98% sure it has a blown head gasket. Question #1: How much
should I expect to pay for the head gasket replacement and the timing...

Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR by

No changes are made to the already potent 600hp 8.4-liter aluminum
V10, however, the suspension receives KW coilovers that are adjustable
in ride height and dampening in addition to a new front stabilizer bar
for increased front end stiffness and reduced body...

VR6 AFP Cracked Head Repair by
[email protected]
Are all cracks repairable on a Jetta year 2000 VR6 AFP head? I do not
have the head removed yet, but am getting coolant into the oil and
exhaust in the radiator. The middle spark plug on the side towards
the fire wall does have a little coolant on it. What is the best
welding rod type for this...

VW Project Car by
Larry Bershtein
This is a very special car looking for the right home. One of the first
A3 Golfs (chassis #606), the car has been incredibly well maintained.
New brakes all the way around, a new battery within the last 12 months,
regular oil changes, etc. A/C blows freezing cold, and the sunroof works...

A2 intermittent start problem- faulty ignition switch by
[email protected]
I'm posting this in the hopes it may help others with similar
intermittent starting problems. My car is a '92 1.8L Digifant Golf,
but I expect the problem is common to other models.
Over the past year the car ran perfectly, but became increasingly
difficult to start. The engine would always...

minor recall on recent Jetta/Rabbit/GTI/R32s... by
Alan Hoyle
I got a a note in the mail yesterday saying that '05-08 Jettas and
'06-08 Rabbit/GTI/R32s are being recalled because of "missing or
misplaced caps on certain aiming adjustments" for the headlamps. It's
supposed to be a free repair and only take a few minutes at your
dealer.

'87 Scirocco parts by
Bill Leary
I wrote here a few weeks back that my son had run my '87 Scirocco 16V over a
truck brake drum on the highway.
Mashed the hell out of the oil pan. They've taken that down and, amazingly,
there is no visible damage to the crank shaft. And my son reported that it
was running fine afterwards. He...

from under the hood. Turns out there was a leak in the upper radiator
hose. But simultaneously, the power steering stopped working. I fixed
the coolant leak and refilled it, but the power steering still isn't
working. The...
