Drive Clean, old A2s, and NOx emissions by Garry Tarr
Recently there have been quite a few postings to this group regarding older A2s having problems with Ontario's Drive Clean emission testing program. I thought my experiences with passing this test might be of interest to others. I have a '92 Golf with the basic 1.8L 8 valve gas engine and...

ABS and Brake light on '99 Passat by wjcimbri
Hi, I have a question to the group. I brought my '99 Passat in the shop yesterday because the ABS and Brake light goes off and alarms for up to two minutes, then goes off. This happens maybe 2 to 4 times a week. I brought it to my local VW dealer, who I have a good report with, and it turns out...

The Jetta not indicating problem...a clearer explanation of my problem! by Ade Evans
On the dashboard the light that shows I'm indicating remains on all the time....although dimmed. When I indicate the light comes on fully but doesn't flash at all. The indicators do flash when I use the hazard warning lights. Hope that makes sense!

Turbo bypass valve/secondary air injection? by [email protected]
How is the Turbo bypass cutoff valve related to the secondary air injection system? Why would a failed Turbo bypass valve throw a p0411 trouble code? Aren't they separate systems?

A local dealer is telling people that he is expecting MKV Golfs in March, with the GTI and an MKV Jetta following sometime between late June and November. He also says that VW is confirming that the next Passat will be released as an early 2006 model, sometime around next summer and that the 2.0T...

Changing the driivers front turn indicator bulb?! by John
My drivers front turn indicator bulb went out. I pulled it out assuming it was a plain bulb behind a yellow lense, but it isn't. However, it looked okay except for some corrosion on the stem. I cleaned it up stuck it back in, and it worked. There is a hard plastic cover that goes over the back...

Oil in the air filter (Passat) by Spitfiremk9
I have a 1982 Passat 1600CL Estate. I have just had a new head gasket and there seems little wear in the engine. No smoke from the exhaust. Still torky. BUT I am getting oil blown into the air filter from the air breather. I got the garage to clean out the chamber on the rocker cover.

Cabrio Rollbar Question by S John M-M
Now that I've had my VW a few months, 1995 Cabrio, I can affirm I'm still in love with it, and it's the best suited to me car I've ever owned--new or used. Anyhow, now that the weather's dictated I travel more with the top up than down, something got me curious: The top of the rollbar has a thin...
