95 Cabrio Odds and Ends by
S John M-M
OK, so I got my 95 Cabrio last year. At the time it had about 75k on
it, but it was in unbelievably great condition. It could (it still
does actually) pass for a 2 or 3 year old car. Anyhow, I've owned and
driven many different cars--new and used--since I started driving 20
years ago; I can still...

225/45 R17 replacement tires for 2002 VW GTI by
Crapton
The 1.8T GTI I bought with 26k miles now has 48k miles, and its
Michelin Pilot MXM4s are on their last legs, and I am seeking advice on
a replacement. The car and I live in the Denver area, but we don't
make forays into the high mountains during the winter. Priorities are
(in order) (1) dry...

Golf Won’t Start by
alottamalarkey
This is an annoying intermittent will-not-start problem in a 2.0 GL
Mark IV. There is no problem with warning lights. When the car
starts, it runs fine; has never stalled or died. There does not seem
to be any relation to wet, dry, cold or hot weather. Battery is
plenty strong.
SYMPTOMS: On some...

David Cole
Canadian 02 Golf TDI with 160 000 Km's on it. its a company car that has
been well maintained but driven hard. 5spd so no automatic worries and it
has a new clutch although I've burned up the 2nd and 3rd gear synchros

Heater noise by
Tim Burr
My heater just recently started making strange noises. When I first
start driving the car and the heat is on. It sounds something like water
with air bubbles slushing through the heater core I presume. The heat
and the air conditioner work just fine and maybe it made this noise
before and I didn't...

I'm finally putting it up for sale as the automatic transmission is
starting to slip despite good fluid levels and there is no way I'm

About taillamps (colours) by
Rob Guenther
Hi...
Was just wondering something. For the longest while, all European cars that
I know of have had low wattage red running lights, higher wattage red brake
lights that came on overtop of the running lights, or in a separate part of
the cluster, a spot for a foglight or two *unless North American...
