1982 CJ-7 by
Norman
Until 8 months ago, I faithfully locked in my hubs and drove 5 miles to
lubricate the axle while driving off road. Last September I moved from the
AZ desert to Washington State. My Jeep has been parked for 7 months after
driving it 1500 miles to get it here.
I went to an off road park to lock in...

1982 CJ8 6cyl Oil Pan gasket/kit? Oil pump? by
[email protected]
A friend was trying to help me siphon some oil from my Scrambler to
get an oil analysis done. (Analysis came back fine.)
However, he used some plastic tubing to get the sample through the
dipstick tube, got it caught somehow when pulling it out, and broke
off an unknown quantity in the pan.
So I...

1983 CJ7 Hazard Lights Won’t Stop Flashing by
Jeepers
I have a 1983 Jeep CJ 7, and I cant seem to find a switch or toggle to stop
the hazard lights from blinking. The only way I can get them to stop is by
pressing on the brake. As soon as I release my foot from the brake peddle,
they start blinking again. I don’t know how to stop this.

1984 CJ -- two questions by
Lee Ayrton
Posting for a friend with a 1984 CJ, 258, std. that he's rebuilding.
What's the spec for cylinder compression? He's getting 160 across all 6
cyls, which sounds pretty good from here.
He's putting a new fiberglas tub on his Jeep and might have a windshield
frame from a Wrangler fall into his lap,...

1984 CJ-7 by
ambrin
I've had one week to survey my wife's CJ-7. Other than being a rolling rust
bucket, with nothing that works right, it ain't got no problems at all. The
first challenge is to find out why the cloth doors don't fit, or latch, onto
the jagged piece of metal acting as a door latch on the body door...

1984 CJ7 - Dumb Questions by
ambrin
Well Men,
My wife just bought a 1984 CJ7 for me. I'm retired and I'm not real eager
to get into the "fix as you drive" hobby.
This CJ7 checks out on CarFax and it looks like a fairly good deal.
However, there are two immediate problems; and I'm sure I'll be asking lots
of stupid questions in the...

1986 'Nuttered' CJ7 4.2L Canadian Emissions Data by
Mike Romain
Well after arguing myself blue with a 'mechanic' that says no way a Jeep
with a carb can pass emissions in California if you disable the
emissions computer or do a 'Nutter' on it after the first guy I think to
put the directions online:
http://www.off-road.com/jeep/jnutter1.htm
It gives a sweet...

1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer by
[email protected]
I wrote in a few weeks back about my Wagoneer backfiring and the dying
on the way back from NH. Thankfully your advice was right. I rebuilt
the carb, replaced the disributer and plugs and got it going. I had
some one else set the timing and replace the muffler (previous owner
removed the...

1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer by

Recently driving back from NH my car backfired twice (travelling about
70mph) and then died. I pulled off road and whan I restarted it it
back fired so loud it blew the muffler. Service guy said it was a
fuel problem as it was blowing un spent fuel out the exhaust. I did a
carb rebuild and it...

the top slide does not redirect the air for defrost heat etc. It will

1987 Wagoneer Limited 4x4 Fuel Injected Inline Six Cylinder by
Johnny641
I recently bought my Wagoneer. It ran great, but lately has went down
hill. About a week ago my Wagoneer would not go over thirty five
without cutting out. I would have to let up on the accelerator until it
would quit cutting out. It was not a good feeling being in traffic when
this started...

1988 Grand Wagoneer Tranny leaking help by

Hi all,
My Dad has an 88 wagoneer which has the 727 auto trans. Here is the
issue. When parked on level ground the trans does not leak. When
parked on a decline say 8% grade, nose pointing down, the front of the
trans leaks, but not the pan. At this time, he doesn't think it leaks
while...

I have the above mentioned model jeep with 4liter 4x4. I have 232k miles on
it. I bought it new. The problem is this. As I travel down the interstate I
will hit a small bump in the road and the front end shakes violently, to the
point that I almost have to come to a complete stop before it quits....
