Hazet Reproduction Tool Kit? by
Tom Nakashima
I was wondering if anyone has knowledge of the Hazet Reproduction Tool Kit.
The repro-D kit price runs from $80.00-$135.00. How are the quality of the
tools compared to the original? The original Hazet tool kit is priced
pretty high, from $500.00- over $1K. What makes these original tool kits...

Remember the old ad that someone did about if Ted Kennedy had driven a
Volkswagen, he would be president today. Here is another one that I
had not seen.

Super Beetle brake shoes - are front and rear the same? by
Scott H
Are they making a universal brake shoe for the Super Beetle that will work for both the front and rear?
Or are the front and rear shoes always different?
Anybody have a quick answer? My parts place isn't open on Sunday and I'd like to finish this today if I can.
Mine is a '72 Super, btw.
I picked...

Interstate battery problem - help please by
Jim Ed
Here is the situation.
In the Summer of 2009 we installed an Interstate battery that we got
from Sam's.
In warm or above freezing weather it cranks just fine.
When it is below freezing, sometime the starter makes a little grrr
sound or nothing at all.
On another vehicle with an Interstate...

we do for water cooled stuff that isn't wanted here either !
Maybe Jan (King) might have some thoughts ?

ChrisKlinger
Here's a new one for me; if anyone can tell me WTF, I'd be most
appreciative.
Did the brakes on the Ghia. Replaced rear grease seals, Torqued rear axle
nuts to >215 ft. lbs. Checked and tightened link pins; some slop, planned
rebush for soon.
All's great. Had a little rumble in right rear,...

Atlanta, GA: Fighting the man! (zoning enforcement) by
[email protected]
It is a sad day, my crazy old neighbor has turned me in to DeKalb
zoning. A zoning officer left a note on my door telling me that I can
not have any "inoperable" vehicles.
I have 2 beetles, the first one is ugly but runs. The second beetle
does not have an engine, the front two fenders are...

Alive and well? by
John J Stafford[_2_]
It has been a long, long time since I last visited here.
Update: I sold the pristine '72 to a friend in need. I still have
Micah's '58 and it is still looking good. Oh, and I still have the
f*ucked up engine Jake Raby so9ld me eons ago - it is in storage along
with the GTII-e.

Help a simpleton with a grease gun by
Mike Rocket J. Squirrel Elliott
I need Dummy's Guide to Using a Grease Gun. Thought this would be
simple, but I am stumped.
The Wonderbus's front end is jacked up in the air, ready to have its
steering bits lubed. The fittings have all been cleaned and are
gleaming. I have a new pneumatic grease...
