grease boots by
Dennis Cox
Are there any gotchas or recommendations on replacing torn grease boots on
the drag link/tie rod and the steering knuckle/tie rod? Two of them are
leaking grease after a little mild trail riding this weekend.
I'm thinking that I just loosen the bolt, use a tie rod puller to separate
the parts,...

Vinyl rollbar tape by
Robb S via CarKB.com
try a local wholesale plumbing or piping supply house like ferguson or try
www.grainger.com
Also, local wholesale heating and airconditioning shops sell far superior
insulation for the pipes alot cheaper, and probably have the tape as well.

cj frame repair by
Rusted
There are 6 bolts that hold the skid plate / tranny onto the frame of a CJ.
Well mine only has 4 with good threads, the other two have just enough
thread bite to hold in the bolt, any more than that and they just twist.
What is the best method to repair this? I hate helicoils, and if I drill
our...

YJ added interior light wiring tip by
Offgridman
I just finished installing an interior roll bar light in my YJ.
I used wire ties to fasten it to my rollbar cover. I used one of the
cheap lights off ebay that use a standard bulb with one wire to the
center and a cheap push on push off type switch.
The tip I have is by running three wires you can...

Interesting Jeep in the woods by
Jeff DeWitt
Well gang, I made it back out to the woods today and took some pictures
of that strange (to me) Jeep.
It looks like you guys were right about the engine (big surprise!), it
does look like it says Jeep Tornado 230 on the cam cover. The
carburetor was missing and I not only didn't see a distributor...

fast blinker? by
DiezMon
Hey all,
Last night the right blinker on my '98 TJ starting blinking in some kind of
turbo speed. I know this usually means you have a light burned out.
I checked all bulbs on the right site and they're all good, what do I do
next?
Thanks!

Pinion angle, revisited... by
Nathan Otis
Ok, I got under the TJ and dropped the pinion a little (adjusting the UCAs
accordingly). I still have vibration at 55+. This weekend I'll probably drop
it a little more to see if that does the trick... I guess the option is put
spacers on the t-case skid, but it doesn't seem like I should have to...

YJ Transfercase vacuum switch by
big95yj
I have a '95 Jeep YJ and I too cannot shift into 4wd. I vacuum tested
the shift motor and it seems to hold the vacuum. I changed the gear oil
in it today and cleaned the shift motor, still nothing. Then i read
about the vaccuum switch on the transfer case being the possible
culprit and I...

TJ Bright Lights Not Working.... by
[email protected]
Anybody know what may cause my 1997 TJ's bright beams to quit working?
Regular beams are fine. When you turn the brights on, the fog lights
and the headlights just turn off. Any idea's? I'm stumped.

01 TJ wheels locked up at 65 MPH by
fray
On Tuesday I brought my Jeep (01 Sahara) in for service. Standard
stuff, change the transfer case fluid, check the breaks, oil change,
and adjust the 4x4 lever. (Previously if you pulled back to the 4x4
high location it would be in neutral.. you had to be in the middle of
the position to be in...

Lifter noise...should I worry? by
Daniel Paisley
It seems as though the only people that know about a 258 are in this
group! If I go to the shop for _anything_ motor wise, I'm told about the
blow-by (bad rings etc.). I'm guessing they're wanting to charge me for
a rebuild?! Anywhoo, question is this. I'm starting (well have been),
hearing some...
