Is 2.4 I4 really enough for a Wrangler? by
Indirecto
Hi folks,
I live in Chile and the only engine option for a Wrangler is a 2.4L gasoline
I4. It seems to me that this engine is not really suited for this truck.
It seems to me that the 2.8 I4 diesel in the Liberty (Cherokee down here)
would be a much better choice, but alas, it's not...

identifying a police package Cherokee? by
N8N
Am considering purchase of a '99 Cherokee 4-door, 4WD. Vehicle is in
another state (owned by family member.) She believes that it is a
police package vehicle and I would like to verify. Problem is, I'm
down here, she's up there, she wouldn't know the difference between a
Dana 35 and a Dana 44,...

You're not going to believe this, but by
Budd Cochran[_2_]
I dropped the passenger side lower control arm out to replace the bushings
and the forward bushing fell out ...
shell and all!!!
Guess where most of my death wobble was probably coming from ...
The last person ( I refuse to call them a "mechanic") to work on the
bushings didn't make sure they...

Jeep Liberty diesel question by
Dan J.S.
I am looking at the new Jeep Liberty with the diesel. Can anyone tell me if
its a body on frame? Seems like a really good choice for lifting and making
into a serious off-roader. Considering that the little 2.3 liter engine outs
out 300 foot pounds of torque.

Question about front axle on Cherokee Sport by
noneyabusiness
Are the front axles and drive shaft "engaged" (ie: being turned by the
front wheels) while in 2WD?
If so, is it a worthwhile investment, *gas milage wise*, to get a
setup that includes manual locking hubs?
TIA
PS: I've just finished my second full tank of gas.
The first one I was *trying* to get...

Need new tires for 2002 Grand Cherokee Laredo by
Michael Rosen
My 2002 Grand Cherokee needs new tires and a mechanic recommended I
could save some money by using my spare and buying three new matching
tires. The load index on my old tires is 104S and I noticed all of the
new ones are 106S. Is there a problem mixing load indexes? My current
tires are...

Wagoneer Engine Replacement Choices ? by
Dave Milne[_1_]
So I need some more ...hummph ... power in the Wagoneer, as it only has 144
hp which is about 50% of enough.
Any recommendations ? Presumably the Mopar crate engines would bolt up
straight to the Chrysler Torqueflite 727 ? Novak doesn't seem to have any
adapters for the 727 - "if your transmission...

The economics of propane by
Bret Ludwig
Propane is getting VERY attractive as a motor fuel yet the general
tendency of US drivers is to stick their noses in the air over the
idea of propane vehicles. Why are Americans dense like this?

40A fuse - where to get besides Chrysler/Jeep? by
Scott Nagle
Hi Everyone,
After parting with my '97 Wrangler 4 years ago, I finally got a '05 Wrangler
SE today and love it... When I was test driving it, the stereo didn't work
because he said the fuse was taken out... Uh, ok, no big deal...
When I left the dealership, the odometer said "no fuse", the radio...

Sheet metal & Jeep question by
Jeepers
The words "Jeep" on the side of Jeep CJs is embossed with the letters
painted on top. Actually the raised surface is more like Joop with the
'e's put on. My Jeep project CJ-7 is "Jeep Deere", Green & Yellow. I was
toying with the idea of adding the word "Deere" below the word "Jeep",
on raised...

Where in the world do you mount... by
Kate[_5_]
Your CB radio?
I've been looking all over inside my TJ, can't find a place that won't get
kicked or knocked around by a seat folding forward.
I really don't want to make any more damage than necessary.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

My recent experience with Amsoil by

A few weeks ago I bought a modified D***e pickup. Yesterday, I went
over down the way to an Amsoil dealer and got some of the hypoid gear
oil and transmission gear oil products and changed out the oil in the
(probably stock) rear end and the Clark 5 speed transmission. I drove
it around a while and...
