Bosch injector connectors bargain by Jim Behning[_1_]
I got an 8 pack of MSD 2400 connectors. These are the center type connectors that VW used on their old cars and Toyota used in 1987. I think it was $26 at Summit Racing. I bought a $20 crimping tool. I soldered the connections after crimping as it did not look at pretty as the factory crimp. I...

VW class action lawsuit by Bert Hyman
Received a note in the mail yesterday about a class action lawsuit involving the earlier reported coil failures in some VW engines. After a quick read, it seems that the settlement just has VW agreeing to do what it's already done, namely replacing the coils at its own expense. I'll have more...

A3 Golf Oil Filter Removal Tool by Jeff[_41_]
I think I pulled a back muscle removing the oil filter on my 96 Golf 2.0L this weekend. Since this is obviously a design issue that has nothing to do with my age, I was wondering if there are any good filter removal tools out there. The strap wrench style tool does not fit up in there. Jeff

VW Golf 1.9TDi (1996)... About a year ago, the car developed an intermittent electrical fault. Driving along or stopped and idling, the engine just cuts out entirely. Still turns. No unexpected noises. Ignition coil light and speedo stop working. Other electricals appear to be ok (lights,...

VW vs. The Rest by Ears
It's a valid topic. I love old Volkswagens but my next car is going to be a Mazda. Even though Ford is the parent company, they're still excellent cars. They have the reliability of Toyota with the fun-to-drive and styling uniqueness of VW. While Toyota makes un undeniably good car, they seem...

85 VW gas hydrolock symptoms. by PatAL7L
I've posted about this 85 with starting problems before, and I'm still trying stuff to get it to act like it did when I first bought it (tuen the key and start). It's still not starting right. I'm wondering if there's a way for gas to continue flowing into the engine after the car is shut...

Hengst or Mann oil filter? by [email protected]
Both Hengst and Mann look like good filters. But some online sites seem to sell Hengst (~$5) at about 1/2 of Mann (~$10). Which filter do you guys prefer/recommend? I guess VW buys batches from both at different times?

EDR? by Malcolm \Mal\ Reynolds
I know I've asked this before and someone answered it, but I'm looking for a link that documents EDR or MVEDR on Audis and the Phaeton. I've looked, I've even emailed Volkswagen in Germany, America and Australia and gotten no response.

2002 Jetta // Power Locks Not Working On 3 Doors by JZantello
The power locks are only working on the front passenger door. The driver’s door works once and a while. The back doors don’t work at all. I found a Q&A on a 94 jetta saying I should check out the red vaccuum hoses in the boots of each door because one of them probably came loose. Maybe VW...
