2002 Explorer broken wire in door-body harness by
HerkyJerky
Are broken wires in the door-to-body wiring harness, inside that rubber
boot in the jamb, unusual? I recently had all the power windows on the
02 go intermittent for several weeks. Finally they failed totally.
Traced it to a broken 12 gauge power supply wire in the driver
door-body harness.
The...

Just_Steve
Greetings all,
My '96 XLT V6 4.0L OHV 4X4 Auto with 102k miles has started having a hot
start problem. At first I thought it was 'cause of the tank of ethanol/unl
blend I had in it (when will I learn it does NOT like ethanol in hot
weather), but I've since refilled with regular unleaded and am...

1992 4x4 not working by
dr bob
The early cars have a list of things that might cause the problem you
describe. The shift motor on the transfer case can move slightly,
enough to confuse the controller module. The controller module itself
may have failed. You may have a blown fuse.
There is an extensive resource on the...

Noise from front end and steering. by
I have 2 problems here. Don't know if they are connected.
1. I have a noise when I turn the steering to the right. It's like something
needs to be lubricated and I can feel it through the steering wheel.
This happens only at very low speeds like 5mph. During the course of turning
the wheel +2...

Hello, I had a check engine light on my truck about 10 days ago. I took it to the dealer, and they diagnosed the EVAP vent solenoid and EVAP management valve were bad, and replaced. Then, about a week later I take it in for another check engine light, this time an error code 420. They reprogram the...

No limited slip in 2006? by
HerkyJerky
I don't see a limited slip rear axle listed as an option on the 2006
Explorer. Only non-limited slips listed. Have they done away with
this and are non effectively getting limited slip with the magic of
differential braking, sorta like traction control?
