Idea about how to find TDC- Do Not Use The Pencil Method
Today I attempted the pencil method of finding TDC for No. 1 cylinder.
Well, the pencil broke off and now I have to remove the head to get the
broken pencil and wooden chips out.
But that is OK, since I was wanting to replace the push rod...

Fuel gauge problem solved (not gauge) by
Karls Vladimir Peña
Hi RAMVA!
A few days ago I posted about running out of gas while the gauge showed
about half a tank. Well, It was not the gauge that was wrong, not the
vibrator either. Aparently I had large pieces of debris in the tank that
sometimes clogged the outlet and made the bug run out of fuel.

Type 2 into Type 4 by
Christian M. Mericle
Hi,
Is it possible to put a Type 2 motor and manual transmission into a
Type 4 that used to have an automatic transmission?
If so, is it a complex conversion or fairly easy?

retrofiting body panels by
daniel ferguson
Hi all;
Is it possible to install 1965 and older front and rear fenders and hood and
trunk lid on a 1972 superbeetle to give the super a 60's look?
If it can be done, what work is involved.
I'm planning on installing new fenders this winter when the car goes into
storage and would like to give it a...

Something scary happened today by
Tim Rogers
.............I was driving home when a car started tailgating me. Usually
it's a SUV that does this sort of thing but today it was an Acura coupe that
looked brand new(?). It probably had directional control I'm guessing.
Anyway, when I started exiting onto one of those 270 degree off ramps...

Heated Rear Window by
Juper Wort
Folks.
I fitted a proper heated window to my 73 flat screen 1200 a couple of years
ago, and routed the wires wherever they lie.
I spotted in a catalogue this morning that they should disappear into the
rear pillars through a grommet. I found the blanking plug for this hole. Now
which way do they...

Sunroof Failure by
Bugzai
Aircoolies,
SB 74 Sunbug. Love the mechanical nature of Bugs, which is why I need to
make sure I'm prepared when it breaks down. Always wondered what the most
common single point of failure is for the sunroof. I'm guessing it's the
cable (I'm assuming there is one up there) that allows the pulley...

Gas / Bugs - looking better by
Lorem Ipsum
Gas is only $2.99.99 here, but I've had two inquires already about the Bug I
keep covered in the driveway. These are coming from the parents of college
students who aren't really quite old enough to remember that these things
are not the MPG champs they seem to think they are.
WTF? I've been...
