Alert all who have info on this one. Jim and I need to know if there is any good or evil to putting a rack from a 75 super into his 78. I've got one to sell him , and if it will work I'll ship it to him. We only need to know any issues that may keep it from working. Thanks in advance for...

Herbie Fully Loaded by RLS
My wife and I decided to go and see the new Herbie movie. We found out that it was playing at the local drive-in theater, so we got our things together And fired up '65 Beetle. When we arrived at the drive-in, it was filling up with cars fast, every little kid in the place started jumping and...

1966 Beetle Ball Joints by Patrick
I recently acquired a 1966 Bug in Denver from my daughter and drove it back to Atlanta with no problems. She is a little vague about what services has been done to it as she had it sitting for the last two years because of starter problems. That's been fixed. Now I'm wondering if there is a way...

73 bus carb problems.. by [email protected]
I hear a vacuum leak on the left carb. I should be able to find the problem there.. When engine is hot, turn engine OFF, try to restart: pressing gas pedal prevents starting (flooded?), once I get it to start without any gas, pressing the gas stalls the engine. Any ideas on what to adjust?

Car Show day by Dennis Wik
Went to a local car show today and had a good time. I had the only foreign car there, period. I was located between a great looking 68 Camero and a 67 Mustang convert. Lots of muscle cars and trucks. Not many old restored vehicles, most were street rods and 50's sleds including two 57 mercs...

Body off - body support? by Remco
Hi all I've been thinking of a way to get the body off my bug. I know I could just lift it off with a couple of friends and put it on sawhorses. It is just hard to get friends together at a very specific time. Looking at how to replace the heater channels, it looks like the body has to be test...

Generator light always on by Karls Vladimir Peña
Hi RAMVA! Today something funny happened to my 70 bug's gen light. Yesterday it was working just the way it should, but this morning, I started the car like usual, the lights turned on, then the oil warning light turned off, but the gen stayed on. So, obviously, I thought: "dammit, broken belt, 10...

Colortune Diagnostic Air: Fuel Mixture Tool - Good Investment? by [email protected]
Hi! I read in dune buggies and Hot VWs magazine August 2005 issue page 48 about the Colortune diagnostic tune up tool that helps you set the air:fuel mixture. You remove a spark plug and screw in the Colortune spark plug with clear chamber. Then you can visually check and see what the color of...
