6-12V conversion 28PICT linkage question by Bugger
OK, several sites say you can flip the accelerator pump linkage on the 28PICT so that it will clear the 12V generator in a 6-12V conversion. I don't see how to flip it. Can it be done? I do see that some later model 30 PICT carbs have an inverted linkage. Can I take the inverted linkage off...

ISS Brand Connecting Rods by Scott Sansom
Guys, I just bought some connecting rods for a 40hp stock rebuild (64mm stroke). The 1200cc 40hp stuff is starting to get kind of hard to find so I've been buying some NOS stuff off of the Samba and eBay. The rods I bought are branded "ISS" and are made in Japan. From looking at the box I...

Bug, Rear Vent: Where does the rain go?? by [email protected]
I am restoring a 1970 Beetle. I noticed rust in the rear luggage tray and in the compartment under the vents behind the back window above the decklid. I can see that as air moves over the Beetle body that the cool air is going to get sucked into the rear vents and into the engine bay by going...

Re-bushing a carb? by Mel P.
Before I actually try it, how can I test the carb to make sure the bushings are the problem? I have access to a machine shop. Are there sites or webpages that describe the procedure? Are the bushing sold or should I just make my own? tia, -- Mel

Carb rerun by RhinoJockey
I've searched this site looking for the answer to my question and I know it is there somewhere, but sometimes it's easier to start another post rather than look through 30+ pages of "won't idle" inquiries. So here goes: I just rebuilt my carb and installed it this weekend and I can't seem to get...

Fuel Pump Flange by John[_28_]
Still havnt had time to replace this but was fiddling with the new ( mexican or brazilian) one and noticed the push rod was very loose in shaft ( noticeable side play) whereas the OEM German was a snug fit even after 40 years. Did they change diameter of push rod for mexican/brazilian things...
