When do you decide to get rid of your VW? by none2u
I,ve got a real ratty 86 Golf Diesel. Body wise, however I sometimes think I've rebuilt it three times.. But like all A2s , The damn thing wont die. And parts are cheap, because of its age, and living in the rust belt, it takes a long time to fix stuff. Well, now its hot, and my AC took a...

I get a gas smell in my 82 rabbit pickup whenever I open a window. I get it from the wing windows and the back sliding window as well. I dont get it from the vents. I removed the headliner a long time ago, so air can come in through there. I patched three leaks on the gas tank and see no more...

1993 Jetta - both the tach and speedo, clock and mileage indicator suddenly stopped working. However the fuel and temperture indicators are OK. I've given the dash the old Fonzi love tap but nothing. Maybe a rubber hammer is required! My mechanic checked that the grounding is OK within the engine...

how to remove front headrest, '97 Jetta TDI by Keith E. Loyd
howdy, Rear seat headrests just pull right out so that the seat can fold down. I want to remove the front passenger headrest so that I can sit with my buttocks in the back seat and my feet up in the front seat - pushed all the way forward and reclined all the way down. It's hellacomfortable,...

check engine light by [email protected]
I have a 2000 Jetta that has had the check engine light on since I bought it. I understand this is pretty common with VWs so have just ignored it. Now for the first time it isn't passing inspection and my mechanic said I needed a new catalytic converter. I had the dealer replace this under...

I have a 96 golf 2.0 78K. The oil light/buzzer has come on twice in the last two days for an instant, less than a second each time. I was cornering both times but when pushed harder into a tighter corner, it didn't come on. I checked oil level and it was near full. Never seen this before. Any...

adding factory options aftermarker by ConFewzHed
Is it possible to add factory options (fog lights, 6 disc changer) after the car (a 2003 Jetta 2.0) has been made/sold? Also, how hard is it to do an engine swap 2.0 to 1.8? Thank you.
