Excellent Transmission Rebuilder

I want to reccommend a transmission rebuilder to the people around the
Chicago area. Trancor Transmissions in River Grove, IL. He's a one
man operation and has been rebuilding for about 30 years. I walked in
my A604 and he did a rebuild for $795. Most places in my area didn't
want to touch a trans that a DIY'er removed himself. Best part is when
I came to pick up the trans, he spent about 40 minutes with me giving
me advice e.g. which bolts to mount first on the bell housing, proper
mounting of the TC, proper way to set the crankshaft sensor, how to
fill, things to watch out for, etc, etc. The customer service was
outstanding. I drove an hour to get to this guy, but if your anywhere
in the Chicago area or surrounding burbs, I highly reccommend.

It's great to hear about a good experience. You should post back in a few
months after you had used the transmisssion for a while to confirm that his
work is as good as his customer service.

I just passed the 700 mile mark and the tranny shifts like a million
bucks. I'm considering this a good sign : )
