fast ethernet be needed in autonomous cars?

I came across this article

Most interesting is the second paragraph.

So if self-driving cars need 10 Gbps network, there must be some serious
computer power involved.

"AI" is a misnomer. These systems compare images observed
plus GPS location to massive lookup tables of images and
cataloged street features (lights, signs, stripes etc).

'That thing looks a lot like a pedestrian.' 'That other
thing looks a lot like a bicycle.' and so on.
