'71 Horn wiring Q.

I'm trying to get the horn button in the center of the steering wheel
working again.
there are 2 wires under the button one is (grounded) down the tube and
the other seems'
to connect to" brushes" the make contact while the wheel is turning.
the Q. is where does this second wire go? can I find it under the bonnet?
what color might it be. Brown? it's a spaghetti system to be sure.
HELP!

It may help you understand the horn wiring to know that it gets constant
12V and the horn button breaks the ground contact, a bit unusual being
"backwards" compared to most electrical things you find in cars...

First measure the wires going to the horn. One should have constant 12V.
The other is your horn button wire that should have no power or ground,
unless the horn button is pressed.

There needs to be a "jumper" wire at the base of the steering shaft that
jumps over the rubber disc coupler (a.k.a. rag joint) to the steering
box side of the shaft. Check that. And there should be another wire
attached to the steering column tube right where it ends under the fuel
tank. This spot is prone to rusting too.

Why , thanks. what I have found is someone apparently spliced in some
wires and didn't stick to the color code. It's a challenge.
