AFAIK dosbox will allow any attached controller to be used (via the DFend
frontend program which has many, many options which can be tweaked)

Hmm, I'd say EA F1 2002 was pretty good at F1.

And I'd add either Colin MCrae Rally 4 (or DiRT) as the best rally sims.

Hi, I built my new pc about 6 months ago, mainly to play the new car
racing sims, DiRT, GTR2, TOCA RD3, etc.

These games all play really well, at fast frame rates, with most
graphics options...

You really need a sim that is capable of being controlled via keyboards,
