Nope, they shut it down last week due to
environmental impact. It seemed the group
was contribution to erosion and threatening
the extinction of some small backwoods critter.

Yes, but it is busy having a seizure right now. Just leave it in the dark
for a little while and it'll pass.

Cool. For some reason, I don't get new headers from my news server on
this NG anymore. I can get here through Google groups, tho, it's all
good.

Try unsubsribing to the group, clear your readers cache, then resubscribe.
Sometimes newsreaders go brain dead. (like OE for example)
