My locker quest
Decided to get a detroit for my CJ, after checking prices, ranging from
$745.00 to $1250.00 Canadian, I went with the $745.00 one, ordered it on October 14th, they said 3 days. After numerous calls back and forth, they finally phone on November 16th to say it just came off back order, would I still want it?.So I stupidly say, if I do, how long? He said he'll go pick it up at border on 19th, you can have it on Monday the 22, I said, again stupidly, OK. Well in the mean time I decided to get my daughter a locker for her Birthday, after looking on line, I came accross http://www.completeoffroad.com/index.php in the states, best prices I've seen, so I ordered a 31 spline 9" detroit for my daughter, he said he would send it FedEx, 6 days, well today on the 6th day it came as promised, so I promptly got on the phone and phoned him again, ordered the one for my CJ, again he said 6 days, I said great. Hung up phone and 10 minutes later the first place I ordered from phoned to say it was in, I said you waited too long, (49 days is a bit much, by about 39 days) guy was ****ed off at me, hung up on me. |

Man oh man I really would have to think hard if I wanted a locker on
those BC logging roads or not.... Nope, I wouldn't..... Lockers are called 'low side finders' and if you are going up one of those steep cliff faces that's off camber with even 1/2" of snow down, you would be stopped. No way to crab walk up some of those, they are way too narrow... Now if you could get a locker you can turn on or off..... I wouldn't put out big bucks like that for anything else. But Mike, you forgot I live on the sunshine coast, one 4" snowfall last
year, in mid winter it would take me an hour to get to snow. So that's not a consideration.
