Default Use Key Chip To Locate Key

I know this is far-fetched, but with the newer Accords having a chip
in the key that is read by the ignition before the car can start, what
would it take to be able to locate a lost key by reading the code with
some kind of receiver? I suppose you would somehow have to duplicate
the system in the Accord. Also, the receiver probably has to be very
close to the key. I envision something like a metal detector that you
can use throughout your home to find the elusive key.

Put an RFID chip on your keychain and if you are real nice to the
green grocery guy he'll let you use his RFID scanner to find your lost
keychain. Passive RFID has very limited broadcast range.
