How to replace instrument lamps?
I have a 1978 bug cabriolet. What is the proper way to get at the
instruments in order to replace lamps? There is a steel panel in the front luggage compartment behind the dash but it is not only held in with screws but with a strong sealant of some sort. Seems quite different from my old 1956 bug. |

How to replace instrument lamps?
AFAIK
Don't you just pull out the Speedo and then change the bulbs? The Speedo should just pull out since it is held by a rubber sleeve that fits around its outer diameter. I use a hooked tool to start to pull it out. In your case you might have to disconnect your speedo cable and I am not sure if you have an EGR timer box in the front trunk of the vehicle where the speedo cables connect at. -- later, dave (One out of many daves) "2ndKnight" > wrote in message ups.com... >I have a 1978 bug cabriolet.
