No, the 15" tires will not fit onto the 14" rim.

Good answer!
To answer the question that I think the OP was asking, obviously you will need 15" rims to run 15" tires. A 195/60 would not be a good size as the rolling diameter will be significantly larger than stock. A better choice would be either a 195/50 or a 205/50. nate Mike Romain wrote: > No, the 15" tires will not fit onto the 14" rim. > > Mike > 86/00 CJ7 Laredo, 33x9.5 BFG Muds, 'glass nose to tail in '00 > 88 Cherokee 235 BFG AT's > Canadian Off Road Trips Photos: Non members can still view! > Jan/06 http://www.imagestation.com/album/pi...?id=2115147590 > (More Off Road album links at bottom of the view page) > > Darin wrote: > > > > I have a 88 Honda Civic with p185/60r14, can I put p195/60r15 on it? |

[rimshot -- literally!]
> No, the 15" tires will not fit onto the 14" rim. Sure they will, as long as you don't go above 14.7 psia. Seriously: A good local tire store can advise the original poster on tire sizes and choice of wheels, as can a business called The Tire Rack (tirerack.com). Note that choice of wheels is not just an aesthetic decision -- a good place can look up the right offset, etc. as well as whether they'll basically fit. RTFM'ing, as an earlier poster had suggested, might not be terribly useful if he means the owner's manual or even a repair manual, except in regard to the few combinations of size and aspect ratio that might be factory options. Of course, if the manual in question is the big book of allowable fitments that the tire store has, that's more useful. http://www.4lo.com/ has some calculators that give an idea of what different tire sizes might do to the speedometer accuracy, gear ratios, etc. Note also that the standard advice from the stores usually assumes a stock vehicle. If the original poster has it in mind to lower or otherwise modify the suspension, the tire size should be chosen with a specific kit or at least some specific numbers aforethought -- no sense buying new rims twice. "Slamming" sport compacts is outside the realm of what I know much about -- one just wants to be sure whether a tire/wheel upgrade is the only thing on the table, or part of a larger project.
