Default 1934 MG NE Magnette - red - fvl

This car appears to be based upon the NE Magnette model but that is not a
guarantee and I suspect much tinkering and mods have been done since it was
built.

criticizes everything I do in the foulest most uncivil language possible,
but who unfailingly copies my work anyway and reposts it without attribution
using the lie that he neglected to note the OP's name --- even though in
some cases the pictures still bear my signature in the lower RH corner.
Please examine the small photo here and if interested let me know in the NG
or drop me a line and I'll forward a free larger copy for your
non-commercial use only.

Thank you for supporting this method of keeping my work out of the hands of
one who doesn't deserve it.

If Leroy or somebody can clarify this I'd appreciate it.

It is one of the seven NEs built for the 1934 Ulster TT race, Pat. This
particular car was to have been driven by Nuvolari, but he withdrew and
it was driven by one Bill Everitt. It was then sold to H B Shaw who used
it in trials during 1935, and who then transferred its engine to a MG ND
which he also owned. The factory then fitted a short stroke K3 engine
and pre-selector box to the car in your picture. So, yes, it isn't as it
left the factory, but as a working racing car the modifications made to
it are very much of the period in which it was raced. Where any racing
car is concerned, it's always difficult to decide what's original and
what's a modification, since so may of them are continually tinkered
with to keep them competitive. No doubt other changes were made to it
along the way. It still looks good, though, and thanks for posting it.
