Research Qs on my 91 16V AT valve body....LONG and semi-Technical
First off........is anyone selling an automatic transmission valve body for
me to examine? <g> How much power is supplied to the solenoids and AT fluid temperature inside of the transmission? Is it possible to activate the solenoids at the valve body's wiring plug with an external power supply to check the operation of the individual solenoids? From my testing of the wiring, I did a test of the valve body wiring at the transmission plug. I got a slightly high reading of 70 and 68 Ohms for Solenoids #2 and #4 (should be 55-65 Ohms) I will also have to recheck #6 solenoid and I wonder why it uses a different power supply pin from everything else inside of the valve body even the AT fluid temp sensor. AND THAT IS THE ONLY SOLENOID NOT CREATING A DTC. Is this correct??? I kinda want to imagine what is happening before I pull out the valve body. (Total of 10 pins/terminals at the Valve Body Wiring Plug) Solenoids 1-TCM pin 22 2-TCM pin 23 3-TCM pin 3 4-TCM pin 2 5-TCM pin 24 6-TCM pin 25 7-TCM pin 21 1 pin - ATF temperature sensor uses TCM pins 30 +31 (TCM pin 31 is not recorded in the Bentley wiring diagram) 2 pins used for power supply at the Valve Body Wiring Plug both originate from TCM pin 18 (#6 solenoid uses 1 of the these pins, while all the other solenoids and temperature sensor uses the other) TCM pin 18 supplies the power to the solenoids and the other pins ground them out as needed. Here are the results of my DTCs that force my trans to be put in 3H (Limp Mode) VAG-COM Version: Release 303.1 Control Module Part Number: 096 927 731 M Component and/or Version: DIGIMAT 0811 Software Coding: Diagnose VW Work Shop Code: 7 Faults Found: 00258 - Solenoid Valve 1 (N88) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00260 - Solenoid Valve 2 (N89) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00262 - Solenoid Valve 3 (N90) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00264 - Solenoid Valve 4 (N91) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00266 - Solenoid Valve 5 (N92) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00270 - Solenoid Valve 7 (N94) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00300 - Transmission Fluid Temp.
