2002 Caravan PS Leak..Help
Hello,
My 2002 Caravan under warenty has a leaking power steering return lines where the rubber hoses clamp to the metal tubing on each side of the cooler. This started after one of the rubber lines was replaced on a recent factory safety recall (also the rack and power steering unit was previously leaking thus replaced). Car is kept outside and all nites when the temp is below 10 degrees the connections at the cool lines leak for a couple of seconds as soon as the engine is started. The Chrysler Dealer has been unable to stop the leak even after repacing the hose clamps to the worm type, however, the leak is smaller. The service manager says the lines are only return lines and, therefore, has no pressure in them. If so, why leak? or better, how to fix the problem? Any thoughts are much appreciated. Art |
