156 Quiet Tyre reccomendation - UK
Hi, after some thoughts on the best tyre for a 156.
Model 156 TS 2.0 Lusso so its on a 15 inch rim, specifically a 205/60 R15 V tyre. Currently shod with Goodyear NCT5 which seem to have become very noisy as they have worn. Main criteria is noise, I want a quiet tyre. Yes I know it's an Alfa and we can live with a bit of noise but the opportunity for me to "enjoy" my Alfa have been curtailed by the local council and their policy on speed limits and road maintenance. So sadly I am looking at refinement and for the tyre that is quietest. Current favourite looks to be the Dunlop SP Sport 01. Anyone with experience of this tyre or suggestions for a quiet alternative. Thanks Steve P 156 2.0 Lusso |

Steve,
I currently have Dunlop Sp9000 on 205/55 R16 wheels, quiet, in fact very quiet for my standards, but what a horrible tyre for "limit-driving"...!!! In wet conditions they feel ok, much more than on dry conditions. My recommendation, the Pirelli PZero Nero, a very quiet tyre and very good for driving. -- Jacopo Prato, Italia -- Sportwagon 2.5 V6 24V Distinctive Join the Club! www.alfasport.net -- "Steve P" > ha scritto nel messaggio ... > Hi, after some thoughts on the best tyre for a 156. > > Model 156 TS 2.0 Lusso so its on a 15 inch rim, specifically a 205/60 R15 > V tyre. Goodyear Eagle F1, Dunlop SP9000 and Micheling Pilot Sport are low on noise.
Goodyears get quite noisy over time as they "cup" quite easilly. Pirelli P7000 i.e. is not as low on noise, but gets very much (really!!) more noisy after 10-15000km Try www.tyres-online.co.uk A lot of product specifications and test results -- Ciao from Holland AlfistaGJ (Gert-Jan) Alfa red 156 SW 1.8 Madeno tuned (2000) (from 19 October: GT 2.0JTS) Golden Montreal 1428700 (1973/4) "Steve P" > schreef in bericht ... > Hi, after some thoughts on the best tyre for a 156. > > Model 156 TS 2.0 Lusso so its on a 15 inch rim, specifically a 205/60 R15 > V tyre.
