vanagon auto tranny problem
Hi,
I have an 88 vanagon with a 3 speed auto transmission which doesn't always want to shift into 3rd. It seems to shift fine when cold for the first few minutes of driving after that.. well.. it's hit or miss. The tranny oil has been replaced, the old oil did not smell burnt and was redish brown in color, seemed normal. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Thanks, Peter |

You may want to remove the governor and clean it out. Other than that it
sounds like a rebuild is needed. "Peter Reilly" > wrote in message ... > Hi, > I have an 88 vanagon with a 3 speed auto transmission which doesn't always > want to shift into 3rd.
