clicking or thumping noise in sons cherokee

morning and happy labor day guys. ok the sons 2002 grand cherokee seems
to have some type of clicking (i feel its more of a thumping noise) at
some device packed under the left rear bumper guard. dont know if this
is part of the fuel system which it looks like or some type of canister.

it's the vapor canister for the evaperative system and it's held in place by
3 13mm bolts bumper cover has to come off to get to it
did he hit something???or get hit

tim, nope didnt hit anything, he had the whole engine light thing come
on and then he bought a new gas cap but that didnt seem to work until i
actually tightened it down some complete clicks, unhooked the battery
and the light went away. waiting to see if it comes back on but the
canister still seems to be making some kind of odd noise. thanks john jr

it has a pump on it and you might hear a clicking noise
