are we talking about the newer GTO? because I was just ( 1 month
ago )sitting in one in the dealership in Barrie, Ontario Canada... any
chance a few somehow slipped through??

a quick check of Pontiac Canada, doesn't list the gto either, hmmmm

Well, they'll have a hell of a time getting it insured:

GMCanada called me yesterday, where I reaffirmed that I want a GM
version of a BMW 3 series. (small, sporty, rwd, 4 seater.) Maybe a
Camaro or Firebird... or a GTO.

Turns out the bumpers are the problem with the GTO. That sucks,
especially because they could probably use the Catera or CTS parts to
bring the bumpers up to spec.

Yep, the '04-'05 model.

If you were to ask, you'd probably find it was a display model only, not
for sale.
