Default <r> Great Lakes Image044-1 SUNKEN NASHS And KISSELS

My uncle lived in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin on Lake Michigan in the
1960's. He told me about an auto transporter that sank with a load of
Nashs & Kissels in the late 1920's or early 1930's. I friend who owns
a restoration shop outside Chicago told me that he heard a salvage of
the wreck was attempted in the 1970's by a group of auto buffs.
Anybody know any more about this?

found this on google

Senator, the third ship to sink in the period of nasty storms at the end of
October 1929, this one the victim of a collision with another ship in thick
fog. The Senator sank with a cargo of automobiles, which are still on board
today.
