That is the GM TSB and is basically the same for all of them.

If you run direct from batt.for the power with the shortest poss. ground lead
you will get less alternator whine in the c.b.

Not on the newer vehicles usually. Using the body for a ground is
extremely 'noisy' because everything else uses the ground.

If you use 10 ga. wiring like the TSB's call for, it doesn't pick up
much RF.
