FIX the problem, do not hide it by making the electrical system more complicated and more vulnerable to malfunctions. Jan (who melted a Ford relay in it's original environment by simply cranking for too long) |

Relay received and installed - thank you Jim. Problem rectified, starts on the first spark, every time. Stops on request too ;-) While I accept that this sort of fix might be viewed as a bandaid that masks the symptom rather than addresses the cause, I think this is a particular problem of an electronic ignition module in a 6V system which wasn't covered in the original design. And its nothing that can't be removed without a trace and reverted to bone stock at any point in the future if desired. |
