March 10, 2004
1966 bluebird [dodge] OTR School bus RV conversion For Sale. This unit is self contained. Everything works, Has basement storage compartments below, and All amenities. Including- 3-way fridge, contertop stove with oven below, Microwave unit, Full sized double sink, Full sized shower plus Toilet and sink in seperate room,Tv setup has a remote control enclosed antennia, Upper and lower cabinets thruout have been given 3 coats of polyurathane, 2 single beds w storage below them, in seperate room, And a storage/dressing/ furnace room in the rear. A/CD/C Furnace has ductwork to front. All windows except drivers have been professionaly tinted [lemo black] for privacy and sun control. also curtians all around. We have used this unit for camping untill 2 summers ago when we bought a travel trailer for longer trips now that I am retired. In the last 4 years I have replaced the entire water system w new, Water storage tank 42 gal, New Water heater 6 gal, New Water lines in copper. Holding tank is about 40 gal. It also has a new briskair 13,500 roof air conditioner. 1 yr old now, The floor is done in hunter green indoor/outdoor carpeting front to back . The walls in bedroom and bathroom have been wallpapered and wainscoated. Mech. info- The engine is a 361 [big block] class 3 dedicated truck engine. New hoses and belts ,plugs, plug wires, points, yes points, no computers here, rebuilt starter, flushed heating and cooling system, carb kit, new rocker arms, rebuilt water pump. I installed a mini tach and vacum gauge also. [Uses some oil] Used to be dual fuel gas and propane but is converted to gas now. Could be converted back if 1 is so inclined. Components still there. The 60 gal built in propane tank is now used for furnace, kitchen stove, water heater, and fridge. There also is a rack in one of the lower compartments [open air] with 2 small bottles of propane with regulator for useage if needed. The thing I really liked about this bus is the air system. Air brakes, which BTW I replaced air compressor with rebuilt, ALL air valves and lines replaced with new and rebulit, Yes- they are spring loaded emergency/ parking brakes on this unit. [cutting edge for the time] The air is used to pressurize the water system if campground water is not available, the air seat for driver, and the air horn that I got off a semi- tractor [ kind of fun for scaring children in campgrounds] when they dawdle in front of you. Anyway the rear tires have less than 5,000mi on rear- 4years old, The front tires I got with the unit -no cracks good tread. The transmission is a 5 speed manual, single speed rear axel. I replaced the old alternator with a rebuilt 78 amp and electronic regulator. There is a lower compartment for a generator tho empty now. Also I have an overhauled 361 not run yet engine for this unit. Yes I have reciepts for all. I also installed a remote controlled yard light over the entrance door, which is a winnabago style entrance door/screendoor combo. Almost forgot- its got an awning on the passenger side. The color is F-14 grey. Pricewise $4,500. Dont want the air conditioner? $4,000 Want the fresh engine? $4500 You know-deal a bit. Tom Allemani 651-439-5806 or Pictures on next page. |
