This car is a bit of a mystery. The caption card states that it's debut
was at Riverside 1961, but all references I can find to that race say
that it was won by Krause in a Maserati in 1960. The chassis number
quoted on the card is stated in several other sources to be a Tipo 60
owned by Nick Mason. According to one source, the car displayed at
Indianapolis is Tipo 61, chassis no 2469. Any clues, anyone?

Willem knows Maserati, having "written the book".

Thanks, Frank. That seems to confirm what I had found. It appears that
the museum caption is wrong. Odd that a museum wouldn't know its own
exhibits.
