Default Help identifying Mercedes-Benz, please [1/1]

Hi, all

Not being very good at 1930s Mercedes-Benzs, I'm struggling to identify
this rather patrician-looking 1930s Cabriolet which took part in this
year's Indy 500 Festival Parade. All help gratefully appreciated.

I think it's from 1928 - 1930 and is a 1928 680S, a 1929 700K, or a 1930
770K but that's the best I can do. I don't have a picture of this ar or one
exactly like it. At least we know it's a Cabriolet E (4 doors, 4 side
windows, 6 seats in three rows of which one is folding.

Hello Leroy,

Looking at the grille, streamlined fender lights, unskirted fenders
and side pipes this car is from around 1932. Considering its size it's
either a Nurburg 460/500 model or a "Grosser Mercedes" 770 model
(there were also some of the last 630 models delivered in that period
but those had a more oldfashioned styling).
Nurburg models usually had flat grilles so I'm pretty sure this is a
Type 770. The body looks like a factory style cabriolet F and matches
with the pictures I have of this model. At a length of 5.6 meters the
770 isn't that much longer than the 500 (at 5.38 meters). It's name is
probably somewhat misleading.

By the way, types (680)S and (700)SSK were smaller sport models which
look quite different than this stately car.
I hope this has helped you.

André.

Thanks, André. I'll stick with 770 for now.
