Default E30 rear brakes

Anyone know the approximate cost of replacing rear brake pads/discs on an
E30 325i in the UK?

Thanks

Dealer, specialist or DIY?

A dealer will be approx 4 times the cost of DIY, if you use OEM parts.

Parts cost under 50 quid from Euro Car Parts.

Thanks all - dealer cost is just shy of £200. I would like to DIY. Are
specialist tools required?

Not especially. A good big G clamp to push the caliper piston back, a
decent breaker bar to remove the caliper mounting bracket bolts (very
stiff normally).

The disc is held to the hub by one allen bolt. It's easy to strip. Get
an impact screwdriver from Halfrods and give it a good thump to loosen
it first (wonderful tool and not dear).

If it's rear discs, you'll need a couple of metric allen keys. Same as for
the front. Best way is to buy a set on a rail for a socket set from the
likes of Halfords, as they have other uses on the car. And a G clamp to
retract the piston.
