Right, Bruce...I seem to remember the name Reeves on this unit, but could be mistaken. On this particular pickup, they started out on the high side of 200 hp, and ended up with about 140-160 hp gain. Again, allow for my memory lapses.... I believe the ECM was reprogrammed at the same time to make everything work right.- |

Some will grenade over 7 PSI or so. If you can't find any data from someone who's already modded your particular engine, doing your own research can be expensive. nate -- replace "fly" with "com" to reply. http://home.comcast.net/~njnagel |

WHOO! A friend bought a Supra (2JZ-GTE) where the wastegate had been welded shut. The boost gauge went up to 28PSI when he put his foot down. |

Wow, I just checked some prices and they seem to have gone up a lot lately! I couldn't find a RZ at a dealer for under NZ$30k (US$22k approx), and private sales are only a few grand lower than that. I guess they'd be even more expensive in the USA where you only have locally-made models? I suppose I'm lucky to live in a country where we drive on the same side of the road as the Japanese. |

'91 is the previous model: JZA70 chassis, 1JZ-GTE (2.5L) engine, and a lot cheaper. A friend picked up one with a bung turbo for NZ$5k, although good-condition ones go for a bit more -- especially considering that most of the good ones have been crashed already. That engine is quite inferior to the 2JZ-GTE (3.0L), although the chassis is nice (and some would say, nicer). I believe the first JZA80 supra was May 1993, and the first VVTi 2JZ-GTE was 96-ish. |
