VW Trends Problem
Last issue I got was in March (probably like everyone else). Subscription is
paid through April 06. Last week, I got "Eurotuner" in the mail in lieu of VW Trends. Since I have less than zero interest in water-cooled VWs (been there, done that and still trying to forget), I tried to change my subscription to something that I do have an interest in. They say that since I subscribed through a "marketing service", I can't change the subscription. To get a refund, I have to go through the "marketing service" who has no clue what VW Trends was or what Eurotuner is. I had subscribed to Trends since the 80s by returning their renewal notices with a check. Silly me, I would have thought that VW Trends publisher would have initiated contact and offered a choice of the gazillion magaines that they publish. Guess that's asking way too much especially since I only subscribed for 20 plus years. Thoughts???? Andy |

Their stock has gone from $34 to less than a dollar. They've been selling off any assets that were making a profit and shutting down those that weren't (such as VWT). According to publishing industry media, the best people are jumping ship leaving the bean-counters to turn out the lights. -Bob Hoover |

So THATS why I'm getting that magazine! Eureka! Thanks for shedding some
light. I get weird magazines all the time so I figured this was just another one. K. I contacted VWT about getting a refund a while back and they
told me that since I had gotten my subscription renewal through a marketing agency (the subsciption rate on their offer was too good to refuse, damned telemarketers...) I had to get in touch with them. They provided me with a telephone number to call. When I called the number (Ebsco Telephone Marketing) the lady who answered asked me "How did you get this number?!" After a short info exchange she told me that I needed to call some other division of their company and gave me a second number to call. The next call got me another surprised person who wanted to know who had referred me to them. I then got a third number to call. The third person was just as surprized at my request as the first two but said she would get in touch with VWT (Primedia) and find out how much I was due. After I hung up I was sure I wouldn't see a dime. Had the refund a week later. Small miracles. Oh yeah, got my copy of EuroTuner recently also. My son has a rice burner and even he wasn't interested in reading it. : ) -- >>>Mike '64 sunroof Beetle '55 semaphore Beetle |

I actually got my refund from VWT several months ago. It took just a
few weeks after I sent them an e-mail. Yeah. I'm also a proud subscriber of EuroTuner. My subscription runs through
2011. Looks like I get to throw magazines in the recycle bin for some time to come. Neil > wrote in message ... > Last issue I got was in March (probably like everyone else). BUMMER. I used to really like that magazine. And just as I was getting back
into VWs. I've gone to several bookstores looking for it and haven't beenable to find it. I think I might even have a old window decal from them somewhere. I don't think that Hot VWs is that great of a magazine in comparison, but it's been at least 10 years since I last bought VW Trends and owned a VW ('88 Golf, gas, stick) until just recently ('82 Vanagon, gas, stick, going-to-restore-at-the-shop-now). So maybe VW Trends had started to suck... I'm selling a 1994 Kawasaki KLR650 to raise the bucks for the VW's repairs. ....And the mid-life crisis is over. ;8^) Check out http://www.localriders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7339 if interested. I need cash,no trades or checks please. Title is clear and in my name. Brock > "Tim Rogers" > wrote in message...Primedia is the parent company of 'VW Trends.'
