Diesel Automobiles
What are all of the Diesel Auto's currently available brand new in the
United States? Please finish this list: 1. Jetta 2. Golf 3. Passat 4. Full sized Ford Pickup trucks 5. Full sized GM Pickup trucks 6. Full sized Dodge Pickup trucks Is that it? Mercedes quit offering? The VW does not offer the Tourage with the diesel V10 option any longer from what I have heard. |

No, they offer E320 CDI . $50,000+, no manual trans. I don't know or care about what they've got in the M class now. Jeep has this the Liberty diesel.... 2.8l 4, 160 bhp, 295 lb/ft, 5sp auto only. that took me like 30 seconds with google. try it, you'll like it. -- TigBits (o)Y(o) |

The manual transmission is so important though.
And that's right, I wonder how I could have spaced the VW new beetle TDI. I'm surprised that Mercedes still offeres a Diesel option. Is it worth it; does it come with an AWD option? |

BTW - The Jeep Liberty is ugly as sin, on par with toyotas, hondas, and
nissans. |

Well... it is basically the same car as the A4 Golf/Jetta, just uglier and less practical. So I can see how you'd overlook it > > I'm surprised that Mercedes still offeres a Diesel option. Not sure, but I seriously doubt any M-B products have a manual transmixer outside of the "sporty" models (for a while there, they didn't offer *any* manuals at all in the US) they have quite a bit of experience with Diesel engines however so I wouldn't be too worried about reliability. nate |

Is it worth > it; does it come with an AWD option? No AWD on the Merc, RWD only. This is also the ONLY Merc model (out of like 40) that this motor is available on in the US. This car cannot be sold in Calif, Mass., maine and a couple other states. If you need a diesel, wait a couple years until we get the same formulation (low sulfur?) diesel fuel over here as they do in the EU. I believe the fuel differences between the countries coupled with a handful of states over here not letting manufacturers sell diesels in their territory weighs heavily on the minds of the bean counters who withhold diesels from the US. -- TigBits (o)Y(o) |

I'm considering the Jetta Wagon TDI w/manual trans. I'm not sure it
it's possible to buy one in that type of configuration though. I know it's not RWD or AWD, but you can't have everything ya know. |
