Buyers warning for new Land Cruiser V8 TDi with 6sp automatic transmission
Seems to be a structural defect in the programming (or even design) of both shifting and lockup system, leaving both 6th gear and lockup out until 120km/h, resulting in annoying high rev's & much higher fuel consumption..
Some discussed he http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/.../message/11215 (only after subscription, sorry....) (there is a 130/140scool list in that hierarchy too, but without any listfeed) But mostly he http://forum.buschtaxi.org/viewtopic.php?t=18424 http://forum.buschtaxi.org/viewtopic.php?t=18133 http://forum.buschtaxi.org/viewtopic.php?t=18436 (last 3 only in German, sorry....) (synopsis: neither Toyota Australia/Austria/Europe/Japan have any clue, other than being a master in ignoring client complaints, and at least one vehicle is now back at the dealer, with a 2-month deadline being set for solving the problem, or taking the vehicle back) (a transmission expert down under stated that only massive client pressure/complaints worldwide would force Toyota in changing anything....as usual) -- Bye, Willem-Jan Markerink The desire to understand is sometimes far less intelligent than the inability to understand > [note: 'a-one' & 'en-el'!] |
