Has anyone heard of a modification to the c5 or c6 that you can remove a fuse
to make the exhaust system bypass the cats?

You are confusing a cat bypass with the Muffler Bypass on the C6 Z06.

I was kinda thinking about the resistors used to keep the cats from
reading information that would require them to light up. Nothing
besides a major exhaust system rework will make the exhaust bypass the
cats. With that modification it's worth a $X,000 fine if they were to
press the violation.

Bob, Thanks. Do they have the bypass on the C5?

Nope. It's a feature unique to the C6 Z06 model of the Corvettes.
